Your data in CleanSlate
This page describes what the app actually does today. It is not a legal privacy policy and makes no compliance, encryption, or retention promises.
Your data
You can download a copy of the information CleanSlate currently stores for your account.
Includes your available journal and check-in history, AI Coach conversation, and your own Community posts and comments. Older records are loaded in pages; deleted or access-restricted records are not included.
Interrupted recovery saves keep an account-specific device copy. Conflicting changes pause saving; you can download your copy and reload the latest account data. Older copies stay until you remove them.
New quick check-ins kept on this device retry when you reopen the app or reconnect. Older device-only entries are not uploaded automatically.
When you are signed out
CleanSlate requires an account for its private recovery features. While signed out you can only see the welcome page, sign-in and password reset, the privacy and legal pages, and the public immediate-help page; no recovery data is written.
When you are signed in
Your reasons, notes, trackers, relapse entries, progress and journal entries are saved to your CleanSlate account as well as to this device. Database rules restrict every row to the account that created it, so other users cannot read your entries.
Your nickname, country, language and currency, plus any optional answers you give during setup or in Personalization (birth year, gender identity, gambling types and what would help you most), are saved privately to your account. They are not shown in Community and are not sent to the AI Coach.
Savings goals and your discreet-mode settings are kept on this device only and are not sent to your account.
If a save to your account fails, the app tells you and keeps the copy on this device. It retries the next time you change something; there is no background retry while the app is closed.
Private account records are not end-to-end encrypted by CleanSlate. Access rules protect them from other members; service providers process information to operate the app.
AI Coach conversations
Your coach messages and replies are saved to your account. They are not shared with other members. You can delete the conversation from the AI Coach page.
To generate each reply, your recent messages are sent to an external AI provider through the Lovable AI Gateway. CleanSlate cannot control how that provider handles the text on its side.
Discreet mode
Discreet mode hides money amounts only. Your reasons, notes, journal entries and streaks stay readable on screen.
Community posts
Approved Community posts are visible to other signed-in members with your chosen display name or member label. Posts remain linked to your account. Keep identifying details out of your name and posts.
