Terms of Service

Last updated: October 15, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of CleanSlate, operated by Ali Dincer.

By creating an account or using CleanSlate, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use CleanSlate.

Questions about these Terms may be sent to support@cleanslatestart.app.

1. What CleanSlate is

CleanSlate is a digital self-help and recovery-support product designed to help people reflect on and manage their relationship with gambling.

Features may include recovery tracking, Reasons, notes, Trigger Journal, mood check-ins, urge-support tools, educational content, protective tools, Community features, and an optional AI Coach.

Features may change over time.

2. Not medical or professional care

CleanSlate is not a medical provider, mental-health provider, therapist, gambling-treatment provider, financial adviser, legal adviser, or emergency service.

The service does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or mental-health condition.

Information and tools in CleanSlate are provided for general informational, educational, organizational, and supportive purposes.

Use your own judgment and seek qualified professional assistance when appropriate.

3. Emergencies and immediate danger

Do not rely on CleanSlate or the AI Coach for emergencies.

If you or another person may be in immediate danger, may harm yourself or someone else, or requires urgent medical assistance, contact the appropriate local emergency service or qualified crisis resource.

CleanSlate cannot monitor you continuously and cannot guarantee intervention during an emergency.

4. AI Coach

The AI Coach is an automated AI feature.

AI responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate for your circumstances, or out of date.

Do not rely on AI Coach responses as professional medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or emergency advice.

You are responsible for deciding whether and how to act on information generated by the AI Coach.

5. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining access to and security of your account and sign-in credentials.

You agree to provide information that you are authorized to provide and not to impersonate another person.

You are responsible for activity performed through your account except where applicable law provides otherwise.

Notify us at support@cleanslatestart.app if you believe your account has been compromised.

6. Your recovery information

CleanSlate allows you to record personal recovery information.

You control what optional information you choose to enter.

You should not use CleanSlate as the only copy of information that you cannot afford to lose.

Some settings or information may remain only on your device as described in the Privacy Policy and in the app.

7. Community

If you use Community features, you agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, bully, or abuse others;
  • encourage gambling or intentionally pressure another user to gamble;
  • post unlawful, fraudulent, hateful, or exploitative content;
  • impersonate another person;
  • disclose another person's private information without authorization;
  • attempt to manipulate, disrupt, or abuse the Community or service;
  • use Community to promote scams or unauthorized commercial activity; or
  • post content that violates applicable law or the rights of others.

We may moderate, restrict, or remove Community content or access when reasonably necessary to operate and protect the service.

Community content reflects the views of its users, not necessarily CleanSlate.

8. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • use CleanSlate for unlawful purposes;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account or information;
  • interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure;
  • probe, attack, bypass, or misuse security controls;
  • use automated systems to abuse or overload the service;
  • introduce malicious software;
  • misuse CleanSlate to exploit or harm another person; or
  • use the service in a way that violates applicable law.

9. Your content

You retain whatever rights you have in content you create and submit to CleanSlate.

You give CleanSlate permission to process, store, transmit, display, and otherwise handle that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and provide the service, subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law.

For Community content, this permission includes displaying the content to the audience to whom the Community feature is available.

10. Intellectual property

CleanSlate, including its software, design, branding, original educational materials, interface, and other original service content, is owned by or licensed to the operator and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of CleanSlate intellectual property to you.

You may use the service for its intended personal purposes subject to these Terms.

11. Third-party services and links

CleanSlate may rely on or link to third-party services, resources, blocking tools, crisis resources, or websites.

Third-party services are controlled by their respective providers and may have their own terms and privacy practices.

CleanSlate is not responsible for the availability, content, security, or practices of third-party services except to the extent required by applicable law.

12. Service availability

We aim to keep CleanSlate available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Features may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, network failures, third-party services, or other circumstances.

We may modify, add, suspend, or discontinue features as the product develops.

13. Changes to the service or Terms

CleanSlate is an evolving product.

We may update these Terms or modify the service.

When these Terms change, the "Last updated" date will be updated.

For material changes, additional notice may be provided when appropriate.

Continued use after updated Terms become effective may constitute acceptance where permitted by law.

14. Suspension or termination

We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to:

  • protect users or the service;
  • investigate misuse or security issues;
  • comply with legal obligations; or
  • enforce these Terms.

You may stop using CleanSlate at any time.

You can permanently delete your account at any time from the Account window in the app. What is deleted, and how Community posts and comments are handled, is described in the Privacy Policy.

15. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by applicable law, CleanSlate is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We do not guarantee that CleanSlate will:

  • always be available;
  • be error-free;
  • prevent gambling;
  • prevent relapse or restart;
  • produce a particular recovery, financial, medical, or personal outcome; or
  • be appropriate for every person or circumstance.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to use of CleanSlate.

CleanSlate is a self-help/support tool, and you remain responsible for decisions you make based on information available through the service.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some limitations may not apply to you.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

17. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, or costs arising from your unlawful misuse of CleanSlate, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights.

This section does not apply where prohibited by applicable law.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator in the United States, without depriving you of mandatory consumer protections that apply to you under the laws of your place of residence.

19. Severability

If part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

20. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms clearly presented for a specific feature, form the agreement governing your use of CleanSlate.
